Calendula plants are so abundant, easy to grow and incorporate into your daily living.
We have an abundance of seeds here at Plant & Share and wanted to make them available, so you can enjoy them too. Excellent companion plant with your vegetables or to bring some colour into your garden beds in early Spring. They have a really long flowering period, especially if you keep picking the flowers.
A small packet of organically grown calendula seeds (Calendula officinalis) approx 30 seeds.
Description
Growing conditions: Calendula seeds prefer moist, fertile, free draining, temperate conditions.
Height: Annual. Calendula grows to approx 40cm ht
Propagation instructions: Calendula seeds are easy to grow, early Spring or Autumn. Either direct sow or prick out as soon as the first leaves appear.
Planting spacing: 25cm centre or 9 per square metre
Which parts are used: Flowers can be used fresh or dry.
May have properties: Anti-inflammatory, astringent, bitter, antiseptic, emmenagogue, and circulatory stimulant.
Safety: Calendula has a perfect safety record, with no toxicity reported. Safe for use with children.
